Alison Biscoe
Alison has experience in project management and stakeholder engagement, and has been actively involved in supporting the development of the Centre for Sport and Human Rights since June 2017.
Current work
As Manager of Programmes and Partnerships, Alison is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Centre for Sport and Human Rights, as well as relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including those on the Centre’s Advisory Council. The role also includes contributing to the development of tools and guidance that progress the implementation of human rights commitments by key actors, including through the development of training materials, and the planning and delivery of trainings and workshops. Alison also contributes to the development of the Centre’s strategic planning, activity planning and fundraising proposals.
Previous experience
Alison joined IHRB in June 2017 as Project Coordinator for IHRB's Mega-Sporting Events Platform for Human Rights, the precurser of the Centre. Before this, she worked for three and a half years at the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment where she worked with investors on their corporate engagement activities. She worked across several sectors and topics covering the full range of environmental, social and governance (ESG) themes, before focusing more on the human rights impacts of companies and what investors should do to address these risks in their portfolios. She holds an MSci in International Relations from the University of Nottingham and also attended the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).
