Emma has an expertise in communications and social media management, specifically in the non-profit sector with a consistent focus on human rights.
Current work
As the Junior Communications Consultant, Emma supports the Centre for Sport and Human Rights with the day-to-day external voice and face of the Centre, assisting with the management of its website, social media, webinars, podcasts and written outputs.
Previous experience
Emma has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Leeds where she specialised in human rights law and war crimes. Following which she completed a Master of Arts in International Studies and Diplomacy at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). Whilst at SOAS, Emma began focussing on issues pertaining to sport and human rights and began working for Goal Click, the global football and photography project. There, she assisted with the launch of Goal Click Refugees, a collaboration with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, sharing the stories and photographs of refugees and asylum seekers through the common language of football. Previously, Emma additionally gained communications and advocacy experience at a range of charities tackling homelessness and the refugee crisis.
